Section 2. The Development of a New Corporate Identity and a Name Change

3. Changing the Company Name to Daibiru

  • The corporate logo and logotype with the new company name

At the 119th ordinary general meeting of shareholders held on June 27, 1991, a proposal to amend the Articles of Incorporation—mainly for the purpose of changing the company name—was submitted and approved. The company name was changed from Osaka Tatemono Co., Ltd. to Daibiru Corporation, and this change officially took effect on January 1, 1992. The company was able to make this change because Daibiru had become well-known both inside and outside the company as a communication name.

The logo and corporate colors were also decided on, and efforts were made to promote the new corporate branding. The company created new stock certificates to replace the older ones, changed its various forms and seals, replaced its diverse signage, created a new corporate brochure, and ran newspaper advertisements. A large amount of money was invested in newspaper advertisements in particular, with full-page ads appearing in the Asahi, the Mainichi, the Yomiuri, the Nikkei, and the Sankei newspapers to promote Daibiru’s name change and boost the company brand.
