Section 1. Creating New Urban Spaces
7. The Completion of the Estate Tosabori Building
In 1967, Daibiru acquired a property in Tosabori, Nishi-ku, Osaka. Together with an adjacent property acquired later, the company had 5,475 m2 of land in that area. The company had been looking for a way to make effective use of the land for some time, so when Kajima Corporation informed the company that Fuji Xerox System Services Co., Ltd. (now FUJIFILM System Services Corp.) was considering a move to a building that could be leased in its entirety, Daibiru went ahead with construction plans. In January 1996, an agreement to construct a building on the western portion of this property and lease it in its entirety to Fuji Xerox System Service was finalized.
Kajima Corporation was commissioned to design, supervise, and construct the building. The Estate Tosabori Building was completed in October 1997 and leased in its entirety to the new tenant.
